Enjoy this special video excerpt from a Tai Chi Theory seminar event in which Dr. Yang, Jwìng-Mǐng (楊俊敏博士) discusses the topic of his latest book "Qigong Grand Circulation". This practice increases your whole body Qi circulation to energize your mind, body, and spirit and is the root of emitting power in martial arts. In the discussion, Dr. Yang explains how and why Grand Circulation has faded in Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan.
A 4-hour hour segment of this Tai Chi Theory event is presented on the limited-edition DVD "Tai Chi Theory: MASTER YANG LIVE". The full 12-hour streaming seminar is only available in the YMAA Learning Library, where longer courses are presented with related study materials.
Dr. Yang's tai chi can be traced back to the Yang family through Grandmaster Kao, Tao (高濤)'s teacher Yue, Huanzhi (樂奐之), an indoor disciple of Yang, Chengfu (楊澄甫). After learning from Master Kao, Dr. Yang continued his study and research of Taijiquan with Master Li, Mao-Ching (李茂 清) and training partner Mr. Wilson Chen in Taipei. Master Li learned his Taijiquan from the well-known Master Han, Ching-Tang, and Mr. Chen learned his Taijiquan from Master Chang, Xiang-San. Dr. Yang has mastered the Taiji "old Yang" 108 barehand sequence, pushing hands, the two-man fighting sequence, Taiji sword, Taiji saber, and Taiji Qigong and continues to study and practice daily.
